Hi, I'm Matt from Science of the Forest magazine filling in for Goldilocks. In this experiment Goldilocks was trying to find a bears house in the forest, when she finally found a bear house she knocked and nobody answered so she turned the knob and the door was unlocked. So, she went in and figured out that her DV or the thing that she was trying to measure was which bed the bears slept in the most. So, she went upstairs and observed or noticed that there were 3 beds, one bed had an air mattress, another had a regular mattress, and the final bed had a water mattress. These were the levels or the descriptions of the "set ups". She then inferred that she would sleep the longest in the bed with the water mattress.The units of measurement was the amount of sleep she got in each bed by the number of hours she slept in each bed. Even though she changed the type of mattress she had to also keep some things the same these are called the constants. She had to keep the location of the bed the same, meaning whether the bed was in a cold room or in a hot room. Something she also kept the same was the size of the mattress. One mattress couldn't be long and wide where she had a lot of room to move around while asleep and then another short and skinny where she would have to curl up in an uncomfortable position.Then, Goldilocks had to make a purpose or what the expiriment was for. The purpose of Goldilocks's experiment was to determine the effect of the type of mattress on how long she would sleep in each bed.
